shedding freguency ?

rttlrvenom Jan 27, 2004 01:27 PM

ok well my little amel shed about a week ago. she did have a bad shed, by that i mean not in one piece but after a little soaking we got it off and the next day she had a pinky. i fed her 2 pinkies sunday along with my normal who also ate 2 pinkies. so i quess i have 2 questions then

1) how often do hatchlings shed.
2) my amel took quite a long time to eat her 2 pinkies, my normal had taken 2 and had them down before the amel even had her first one half down. do you think there is a problem or do you think she just wasent that interested in food that day.

thanx

HI, this is just my experience as I'm no expert. My 2 corns, both yearlings now, shed about once a month when they were little. They still shed about once a month. One is a ghost and one a amel. I also have a milk and python and they shed about every 6-7 weeks.

As far as them eating...my amel takes forever to eat too but my ghost will usually eat it down. In fact I used to feed my amel 2-3 pinks at a time and sometimes she would only eat 1. So I would give the other to my ghost. He eats everything. I've never had him refuse a meal. They are eating fuzzies now. I think they are like people in a way...some people don't feel like eating that much and some will eat everything. As long as they are eating I wouldn't worry.
