The Eastern Kingsnake pictured under Virginia local, "Pungo Ridge, Virginia". That is one beautiful Eastern King. I don't know if it's just the photo, but the bright white on black with that speciman is very nice. Heck, I live in Virginia and don't have a clue where pungo ridge is, LOL. I'm just amazed at the variety of these Kings not only through out Virginia, but with their whole range as well.
Also love the specimen for the South Carolina local, Jasper County, with the deep yellow cross bars. Just curious, the ones with the nice yellow chains, are they harder to find from breeders or shows, as opposed to the white or cream color pattern? Thanks

Steve

Pungo Ridge is in Virginia Beach I believe . Thats Howie Shermans stock of VA Beach Easterns and yes they are very clean and bright. The ones I had were light yellow but Im sure they fade out to a nice cream/white. Nice yellow crossbars in an adult is pretty rare. I havent seen a deep yellow banded adult in person. I know animals from Greenville SC are known for yellow crossbars. That animal in the pic you refer to isnt as yellow as it looks by the way. I know the guy who purchased it and he was pretty dissapointed. If you want to try and get some yellows look up "All Gods Creatures" Pet store in Greenville SC Marty Babb is the guys name. Marty who owns it gets the yellow banded animals . Just call information in SC.

Thanks Keith. I'll have to check out Marty Babb down in SC about the high yellow patterns.
Yes Howie Sherman has some very nice animals. I purchased a Desert King at the Richmond show last year that has as much bright yellow on him that I've seen in any splendida. I asked Howie if he had any more Eastern Kings but he was sold out for 2003.
I talked to Jim Sargent the other day at split rock reptiles, as well as John Cherry at Cherryville Farms. They both have 2003 Eastern Kings. I think both Jim and Johns stock are South Carolina local. I can't go wrong with either of these guys.
