pic of a big egg...

Fritz Jun 06, 2003 10:24 PM

I remember some people talking about big eggs a few weeks back, Here is one of the biggest I've ever seen.
The eggs next to it are about a month old so you can see it's pretty hefty.

and they started out normal.
I had 2 trays of eggs in my incubator because 2 eggs started to get a bit of mould on them and I wanted to separate them.
Unfortunately the tray they were in got down to around 70º while the tray next to it stayed at 82. Most of the mass in the eggs is the unabsorbed yolk sac.
One of them hatched and the one in the picture didn't make it, the one that hatched is pretty small but is pretty active. She just shed tonight and is looking good, other than being smaller.

just a reminder for me to keep a VERY close eye on temps.

The baby that hatched out of it is the tiniest one I've ever seen. When she was about a month old another baby hatched out of a smaller egg, but was her size. It's so funny.
She's one of the most expressive lil one's I've seen tho. Her face just lights up and she gets all tense when she spots her mealies. She fun to watch.
The egg she was in had a huge yolk sac. I thought it was going to be twins at first, lol

wow I never heard of two leos in the same egg! well I've only had on male for about a year not too, ha. But is that possible to have twins like that? I never really thought about it..had anyone ever had that happen to them and both the babies were fine and healthy?

other people have mentioned it before.
Last yeas someone had a conjoined twin hatch. I think it was a rainwater with two head, tails and 6 legs? Was kinda creepy really.

I'm sure there have been cases of healthy happy twins somewhere tho.

That is definately the bigest leo egg I have ever seen. That thing is going to hatch out as Monster X.

I had an egg out of the second clutch my female laid that ballooned to huge proportions after the first weekin the incubator...It hatched out a Blizzard hatchling that is almost 3 times the size of its clutchmate who came from a smaller egg.. It measures almost 5 inches at 2 months old....
