Heat Tape Question

ByRandom Jan 27, 2004 07:44 PM

I was thinking about building a rack system for my ever expanding collection of Leopard Geckos. I was thinking about using heat tape but my questino is this:

Can you cut it?

I mean, would I have to order seperate sections for each shelf? Or could I order one long strip and cut it as many times as I need?

Thanks,

I'd like to know how heat tape works and how you set it up and stuff.

How many plugs can you plug into the "Dimmer" from Beanfarm.com? Anyone use it? Is it good? I'd have like 10-14 sections of heat tape.

Check out the link below to learn a little about heat tape:

www.arbreptiles.com/cages/flexwire.shtml

It shows how it should be wired safely, and he also has some plans on the site on how to make a rack. Also for more on racks check out this old post from last year:

forums.kingsnake.com/viewarch.php?id=8724,8724&key=2003

I'm also making the same rack as above with the exact materials listed. I dont need anything to big, just someplace to house my breeders. Hope this helped, and good luck constructing the rack!
