Changing Albino? pic

illianareps Jan 27, 2004 08:47 PM

This breeder male has undergone a total change in appearance in the last few months:just about when breeding season started. He was always nice looking, but now every marking on the snake is some shade of purple and lavender. He is bright yellow(I can't capture the colors he is showing).Any chance that this is hormonal in nature?

Also, does anyone know what i can do to keep the AOL error message from popping up and kicking me from the forum? It only happens here.

Are you cooling him down for the breeding season?
Anyway, he looks great. As long as he's eating and seems normal I wouldn't worry too much. I would take lots of photos for future references.

Do you have any pix of him in his "normal" phase. He looks awesome color wise in that pic.

Hello, This happens to almost every single albino male I have that goes through a breeding cycle and works hard. Some show a lot stronger then others. I have this one Albino that has done the most awesome changes since 97. I call him "Lavender" Lavvy for short. Lavvy has this awesome lavender color and has some very strong yellows. However, during breeding season, he turns into almost a PURPLE snake and looses all yellow colors. I think there are many things that cause this to happen. One is lack of Feeding, and another is a lot of work and stress. They work so hard at breeding that their color just changes. I can promise that as soon as breeding season is over and after he gets about 5 meals in him, he will change back to his normal "Summer" color. Then next year watch him do the same thing even sometimes it may be more drastic. It is cool to watch all my males do this. I think even the normal males loose color a bit, and in the Albino gene it just shows up extra. Hope this helps. Take care, Jeremy Stone

Jeremy

So if a normal albino will go from drab "summer colors" to nearly coral like colors (atleast from the description thats the sound of it) during season. Do corals get more colorfull during season and stay coral colorfull off season. Or do they dull up off season, and only show "coral" colors during season.

Not trying to imply antying without hearing answers, as I dont know enough.

By the way, Im still tempted by the hypo girl......I may call you soon.

I don't know very much about computers but what you mentioned about getting kicked off the forum sounds simular to what was happening with my computer awhile back. I'll tell you what AOL told me to do.

I was told to delete my files. To do this click START, then click CONTROL PANEL, then click NETWORK AND INTERNET CONNECTIONS and choose INTERNET OPTIONS on the bottom of that window, then click the DELETE FILES button, then check the box to DELETE OFFLINE CONTENT, then click OK. Let me know if it works.

I LOVE these forums....
