moving a gravid boa!?

boastud Jan 27, 2004 09:39 PM

Ok here is the problem. My buddy is moving in 2weeks, and his 8' rtb is gravid. He is moving 3 hours away. What would be the best way to do this. I was thinking a huge rubbermaid tub with a few warm water bottles wrapped in blankets.
Please help with some advise.

First of all avoid it if at all possible, I am guessing it is not possible though or you would have thought of that. The biggest problem is to allow the snake to stay at 86 degrees or as close as possible. I think I would probably do the heat pack option, in insulated box, but monitor temps carefully.(have extra heat packs available if needed) On the plus side if temps do get too far off maybe the babies will have crazy stripes and he can sell them as possible jungles. Just kidding. Is there any chance someone close to him could keep her temporarily?? Sorry I could not be more help
