Bleach to clean cage

subspeciesboy Jan 27, 2004 11:39 PM

I used some bleach to clean some rocks and a portion of gravel for my turtle tank, and they all still smell like bleach, a herp keeping friend of mine says that this is not a good thing. What should I do?

Thanks!

Soak them in water and then wash them off a bunch. And next time you can dilute your bleach 10 water to 1 bleach. That will make it easier to wash off.

It reveals the depth to which evolution can sink when it takes the downward path and strips animals to the irreducible minimum able to perpetuate a predatory life in its naked horror."

Oh, I dilluted the bleach, it just smelled of it still, and my friend said this was a worry. Thank you!

Soak the rocks in water and add a bunch of chlorine remover like Aquasafe or something. It will disable the chlorine in the bleach which is probly the most harmful part of it.
