WHAT SHOULD I USE FOR MY BABY SAV????

I recently purchased a sav monitor(should arrive this week.I've been trying to gather as much info as possible for the past five months(books,internet,other herpers,ect..)Ido have some knowledge in keeping reptiles.I'm thinking about using sand/soil mix in the enclosure,will this be safe for a young sav?Would appreciate any help i can get,thanks

me too i had blue play sand for a more eye pleasing kinda thing but no no no i learned quick it wasnt good it got all stuck to him and stuff so i pulled out sephiroth and now i use a mixture of cocoa bean shells and a layer of potting soil under it. the cocoa doesnt harm him and the layer of soil underneath gives him something to dig through but that just seems to be working for me i just got mine about 1wk ago so im new as well

potting soil works well, i've used bark had good luck with it, calci-sand, had good luck with it..aspen shavings..had good luck with it ( kept a humidity box in the cage when he was on aspen) aslong as you take them out of thier cage at feeding time ( which helps greatly with aggresion aswell) there isnt much you can't put a savnnah on
