Egg in water dish!

MattGLet Jan 28, 2004 09:25 AM

I just found that my gecko laid an egg in her water dish! How do I proceed to fish it out? She decided not to use her hide box to lay it! Any immediate help is GREATLY appreciated!

If has been in there for more than a few seconds it is already ruined in all likely hood. Absorbed too much moisture and probably became too cold

ok, just procced as you normaly would. Don't rotate the egg in any way and place it in the incubater as is. This has happend before to other breaders many times. Its better then in the sand under a hide. If it looks like it is swelling up, lightly wipe it with a paper towel or set the towel over the egg for about 1 minut. This will bring the egg down to normal but if you dont watch it, the egg will be sucked dry. The towel will take alot out of the egg.
