Hi,
Heres another 2003 baby. This one is a het-anery. Personally, I like the normals better than the anerys. The bright red is nicer looking I think. But the anerys are cool cause they remind me of a mini ghost hondo.

very very nice!
I am very partial to small milks...
any problems feeding the babies...can you start with pinks? Thanks

This snake was found in Grimes county TX (~100 miles NE of Houston). A reasonably common snake in this area, particularly in the spring.

I have bred them once, then I saw how small the hatchlings were and wondered why I bothered. They were much too small to take even a newborn pinkie (and they were more interested in ground skinks anyway).

The first LA Milk I ever found was a baby. I found it in March so it must have been last year's hatch. Even at 8 months old, it was too small to eat a pinkie, and it never showed any interest in them anyway. It ate f/t ground skinks very readily.

I have kept a few adults for a while and they all ate fuzzies with no problem.

I agree about the anerythristic snakes. Why would you want a milksnakes without any red? I don't get it.

Re anerys: Can you imagine if the normal coloration was the anery coloration, and then someone found a red one? Imagine the $$ signs on that. I think about that whenever I'm tempted by a pricey anery color morph of anything. Saves me money. (Doesn't work for hypo or amel unfortunately.)
