any signs of respiratory distress-- runny/bubbly nostrils, gasping/gaping mouth, lots of yawning? if so, take 'em to the vet a.s.a.p., as a respiratory infection can be fatal and can develop into pneumonia. mine had an upper respiratory infection and an antibiotic injection plus extra warmth fixed him up.

otherwise, if they seem really healthy, i've gathered here on the forums that some torts do make little noises/vocalizations. mine chirps occasionally, and i assume he's normal.

How did you come into possession of three large tortoises like
that, did you buy them? They'd have to be at least 12 inches
long minimum to sex them. Otherwise it's just a guess, no
matter what someone told you. Hopefully they'll get better.

When do they make these sounds? Some of my tortoises and boxes make popping/squeaking sounds when they're feeding, each time they close their mouth.
