what would be the ideal enclosure size for a coastal python mix

Rayquaza Jan 28, 2004 03:02 PM

right now he is only a baby in a five gallon tank. But it happens I have some money right now so I better spend it on building him his future enclosure. I just need some measurements. Im thinking 4ft long by 2ft deep and maybe 3ft tall.Is this too big or not big enough. I am pressed for space but still want what would be best for him in the long run..any ideas would be great..

Not bad, if you could add a bit more lenth it would be better as 4ft is the minimum for an 8ft snake. Being that he's a mix I doubt he'd get bigger than that. I'd say you need a lenth between 4-6ft.
Also Aborial set ups can sometimes work for cramped spaces. Basically you'd just want 4-6ft of height instead of lenth. Anyways just a thought.

I have plenty of time to plan this so I will try for the 6 ft length. It will be a few years before i put him in it. He is so tiny right now and full of piss and vinegar..hee..but I want to start construction while I have the money...
