I'm not too good with Celsius, but I keep mine at around 80 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and let it drop to 74 at night. You must have an exceptionally cold house at night for a 50 watt bulb not to heat it to at least 74. What kind of thermometer are you using? Does the one you have record high and low temp during a 24 hour cycle. They have exceptionally good ones at Radio Shack that are quite reasonably priced. I still think a 75 watt bulb directed into a 10 gallon aquarium will produce temperatures that are unsuitable for your frog. Why don't you experiment with different wattage bulbs to see what works best. The other alternative is to hook the bulb to a thermostat placed in the cage. I've done this with several of the larger cages I have and it works quite well. Best of luck

Whats wierd is I have a 10g and have currently a 75watt on top because my 40watt broke. And whats REALLY odd is that it produces the SAME temps in there. Its only temporary until i get a new bulb.
Im so baffled by it... any explanations?

Wow, that is strange. I would have thought that 75 watts was way too strong. Oh well, I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again. Does your tank have a hood on it? And what kind of thermometer are you using to measure your temps? Also whats the ambient air temp in the room you have the frog in. It would be interesting to find out why no difference.
David
Well not saying your wrong. Im just confused!! I was right with you snice the 40watt does teh same thing! The tank has 1/3 water and rocks, and then bed-a-beast on the other side.
It has a screened hood on the top. Using a digital thermo. Ambient temps in the room are around 75.
Im completely baffled!

I sent you an email on how to reply to a thread instead of making pointless post after post.
Please use it. o) And I gave you a caresheet on the acceptable temps for pacmen.
