Is the snow morph related to the blizzard?

tc_legacy Jan 28, 2004 06:26 PM

Or not? I know that snow is a line-bred trait and blizzard is recessive. If you bred a blizzard to a snow would the outcome be blizzard hets and maybe a few snows? Or would you get some blizzards (homozygous)? In short, what's the genetic makeup of a snow? Thanks.

snows are simply line bred...breeding to a bliz would get you bliz hets, possibly light in color. Snows were created (I believe) by breeding the lightest colored leos the breeders could find, then breeding their lightest offspring, then breeding their lightest offspring...and so on and so forth. So breeding to a normal colored (or blizzard...which if the blizzard genes were hidden the coloration would be normal), you would mostly likely end up with mostly pastels or colors in between snow and normal.
