Re-posting Getting a Bullsnake

Langi Jan 28, 2004 09:41 PM

Well no one posted anything to this last time so here goes again.
As some of you might know, a friend of mine has been trying to talk me into taking his bull snake. He has offered me $15 for food so I guess you could say he's paying me to take it. Well I finally gave in and yes, as soon as I get a job. So I wanted mostly to know, how does Pit care differ from corns and kings. I have a large cage, pleanty of aspen, I guess all I need is a couple hides and a water dish. I believe he said its about three feet long, so on a diet of 1-2 large mice/rats a week, how long will it take him to get full grown? Thanks for any helpful tips from all you experianced pit keepers.

Keeping of a bull is basically the same as with a king or corn. Fresh water feed every 7 - 10 days appropriate sized prey animals, temps between 78 - 82 degrees and hide boxes in warm and cool end of the cage. Enjoy, warning pits are habit forming and you will probally get rid of your others to make room for more pits. LOL.

Pat,

as you know you and your daughter are two of my favorite people. But I warned you about how habit forming these guys were. Be careful your snake room may not be large enough.

LOL

Hey John,

Well, I know what you mean! If I could just get my oldest daughter married off then I'd have her room!!!!! Just a thought!
Of course I would have to do something about the wife also ! LOL! I was trying to work a deal with KJ to get rid of the Corns I still have and my younger Daughter blew a gasket. More work needed there too! That will be a harder nut to crack as she loves the Corns! BTW do you have a picture of an adult Minn. Bull? The pair I got from you is growing and looking more awesome each shed! Take care!
