cypress mulch ...help please.

im planing on using cypress mulch for one of my tegus.,does it have to be prpared or just straight out od the bag,this is my first time trying cypress mulch..thanks for any help

tegus skin is not like snakes or other lizards. mites can't get to them so you can use it straight out of the bag

I have seen mites on Tegus before. Just because their scalation is different does not mean that mites do not get on them.

not under the scales where the skin is thin and exposed so they can bite and do damage like in a snake.

And they can get in and around the eyes, which I have personally seen.
