Wow, nice list of species you have there, Claus. I haven't heard of anybody in America keeping this species, yet. I have seen a few pictures come out of Europe though. Good luck finding it. It is a great looking snake and would catch on here pretty fast, I think, if they were available.

Thanks Terry

One of my favorites is longissima, so it would be very natural for me to get lineata as well. I have had luck finding several localities on longissima (who all differ in coloration).
It probaly will be hard work finding lineata, but it also took me years to find quatuorlineata and q.muenteri.

Hi Claus

Sure will be a thrill following your quest for this species as well.

Hopefully we will be able to work closer together with some american breeders in the near future on some of our ratsnake projects.

Claus,

That would be great if you could find lineata. I wouldn't mind seeing photos of quatuorlineata or q. muenteri either.

Best of luck
Terry

OK, You've seriously piqued my interest... I was just asking on the Taxonomy forum about possible variations in the Longissima by region (much like American Pituophis) and I seem to be hearing you confirm my suspicion... Now can you provide details on the differences? Also, do you have access to further specimens? Locale specific? It would seem the current market for longissima in the US is either non-existant or kept completely private from what I've searched on the web and any help finding a CB specimen would be very appreciated.

Hi

No doubt that longissima is very variable in colour. My group from Padna, Slovenia seems much darker than some of the other specimens I have seen. I will be getting a group from France as well...these being more greenish. This year longissima from Swiss will also follow, with these being much more yellowish.
I can see if I can post a few pictures if you are interested.
I think I will have available longissima from Slovenia next year.
And will visit one of the shows in USA.
