Getting a pair of emeralds, could you please post pics of your cage set ups?....

Hi everyone,

I am gettng a pair of emeralds and would like to see pics of cages and how they are set up. If anyone could also recommend good cage brands I would appreciate it.

They are an adult pair of Northern Emeralds.

I have had great success in housing them seperately in 24"H x 22"W x 22"D acrylic cubes. Although if you intend to breed, I would use a wider enclosure for the female. Sorry I can't direct you to a good manufacturer as I build my own. If they are WC I would probably go with a Rubbermaid or Sterilite set-up until the have made it past 2 years.

do you heat with heat panel or lights? is a 60 watt light with reflector too hot to lay directly on the top of an acrylic cage?

I am converting to heat panels, but started with ceramics. I have allowed a screen opening and the domes sit above them. You can not set the heaters directly on the acrylic. I also use thermostat controls.
