RE: Help needed, spots on Female Red Blood

norml32 Jan 29, 2004 11:43 AM

My 8 month old female red blood has what looks like brown dirt across her skin and several tiny dark "freckles." It does not look like fungus or dirt and does not wipe off. Is this something to be concerned with? Is there a strange skin parasite I need to worry about? She moves around and "snaps" at me fine...and is eating. I will haul her into the vet, but at a $50 checkup visit, I hate to bring her in if this is just teeange pimples.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Cheers.

If you've caught this early it should go away with the first shed.First mix up a mixutre of hydrogen peroxide and water to clean infected area. Then get some polysprorin and rub it in on the infected area.I recieved a blood already like that and this method worked great.

Wow, I had never even heard of this, and you even know how to treat it! Never had any problems with any of my bloods, but if I do I will surely ask you what to do,,, Thanks for the good advice. So is it a fungus? From being to wet or what does cause it? Thanks Jody

Ya, one of my bloods came with these wierd bumps and searched the internet for anything about it.From what I've learned its from too much humidity. The one who I bought it from denied seeing such thing, but polysporin simple cure helped it out within one shed time. From my observation of the bumps it looked like a single scale had rotted and turned hard.
