I have been seeing post about there tegus being only half of there age , because they hibernated. If your animal is 3 years old it is three years old . I do not know were you guys got this Idea from . Now will a tegu live longer that hibernates , thats a good question. Now I know If a tegu does not hibernate it will be an adult at 18 mounths, and if it does it takes 3 years. This does not chang the age of the animal. Thanks Russ

russ, Taz is his age. the person was asking about size, i said that because he does hibernate for around 6months every year. when they hibernate he doesnt ever come and do anything until i warm his cage back up. he does no growing at all so he has done maybe around 2yrs of growing. thats all i meant by it. calm down :P

well taz is about 5 years old . And he is basiclly done growing. he probly grow less than a inch a yeart at this point. You post sounds like (because your animal hibernated it is half the age it is) . Just Sounded kind of silly. Take care Russ

By the way, how long will a tegu live? I know my snakes are supposed to live 20-25 years, but what about tegus?
