this one was taken in october of a young female in southern new mexico. can't beat this area. by night, in those mts in the background, one can find cool things like transpecos ratsnakes, lyre snakes, rock rattlers, blacktail rattlers, etc. in the mornings you can score box turtles as well as other things in the flats.

for the comments. right now i am kinda far from my beloved luteolas (virginia to be exact!) but its alrite, i hope to be here in spring and get some neat encounters and photos of eastern box turtles. in a small patch of woods near where i live i have already found a complete shell from an eastern, and some fragments from another eastern shell. i am just eager for all this snow to melt and the rains to commence, so i can start going out at night looking for breeding amphibians! LOL
