I've been using Quat Plus ( Quat Plus is the new and improved QuatricidePV) from Big Apple Herpetological for about 8 months with no problems. Its easy to use, just spray on, let sit for 10 minutes, and wipe off. I use a wet sponge to wipe it off. I've seen no harmful effects to my ball python. There is not an expiration date on the spray bottle. You could call and double check about expiration dates just to be sure. I really like the product for spot cleaning -- really handy. I also use it when I do a complete teardown of the enclosure. I definitely recommend it.

for small quantities/collections, the quat plus from BA is a great product. But, if you have a modest or large sized collection, I would recommend Pharmocal's Quatrice PV....same exact stuff but comes in 1 gallon jugs and far more economical (but you there is a minimum of a one case order so you'll spend a lot initially).

I just realized I didn't really answer your questions. YES, we absolutely love this stuff and I use it exclusively at my wildlife center as well as my home herp/raptor collection. I dilute it per recommended instructions, spray cleaner in cage and furnishings, wipe and it is clean; no rinsing required. For badly soiled objects, I tend to soak in large bucket of hot water and quat pv....same goes with my weekly disinfecting of tongs/forceps/etc. (or as needed). Hope this helps.
