There was an ice storm here in SC and I just got my power back last night it was out since Monday at 1:30pm. Temps have been below freezing here. All my 20 of my fish are dead including Cheech, my 5 yr old 13inch tiger oscar. Tuesday night it was so cold I took Geico out of his tank and he was so cold he was having muscle spasms and moved as if he was drunk. It was like holding a living ice cube. I was on the verge of tears I picked him up and me and my fiancee took turns holding him at like 3 in the morning. Then we took him and put him in a critter carrier and put him in the bed between us while we slept to keep him warm. We looked in on Tiny with the flash light but it looked too late. She was still with her eyes half open they didnt look like they had any life in them and she didn't appear to be breathing. The next morning we had a ziploc bag ready to dump her in to bury her but as we were about to shake her into it she moved! She was deadly cold but still alive. So I took her and put her in a deli cup and put her on my stomach to warm her back up. As of right now they are both alive and staying at a friends house (bless his heart) with a heat lamp water and a divider. They haven't eaten since Saturday, but I got them some food today and am going to pick them up tomorrow after class. It is a miracle that they have even survived this week from hell
My dog is fortunately at my parents and is okay.
