Ok my first WOOHOO.

I found 2 eggs from my Azureus today. Totally did not expect that. They have been acting like something was up, and I noticed they had been in the hut a good deal last night. Then today when I came home from work I found these:

Kyle,

If I were you, I'd get my hopes up. Those eggs are all eyed up, so I don't think you have to worry about fertility problems there. That's great!

Apparently my wife's leuc's are calling all the time in the mornings (although I've only heard them once--drats!). I haven't seen any coco-hut interest, but they have all day to mess around there. Maybe if my wife's leuc's lay eggs and I raise the tads up, I can finally have some leuc's!

Thanks, and yes so far they look good. I have never seen my male call, but they were all over each other last night, and then today I found the eggs.

My leucs are strange, not sure what they are up to. I think I need to move the hut back in the back, but I also have heard Leucs are seasonal breeders, so maybe in the spring. My luecs are older than my Azureus, thats why I was suprised.

Kyle,

They do look good! Just a note...be patient with your eggs. I thought all my Azureus eggs were going bad and would toss them at the first sign. Well, moral of the story, one day I was lazy and pub the bad eggs aside to dispose of later, two days later, they were developing.

Let us know if you need anything or have any questions, I think you still have our number.

Cool, what size and age are they, as I have 4 of them myself and are thinking its about time they start getting it on?

They seems to be able full grown, I have not measured the actual size. They are about a year old.

Kyle...that's great news!! Now, let's hope your imitators decide to do the same thing soon. I do believe the eggs look good as well. A while back, I purchased a HUGE female azureus from Quality Captives and she laid 3 eggs in her first clutch, all of which made it to healthy froglets. Best of luck with them and let us know how they do.

Thanks, yes I am hoping my imitators do something here soon. I really think I have a pair, as only the one calls and that same one has a visable sack under his neck.

I was very suprised to get eggs from my azurues, before my leucs.

So what are you planning to do if you do have frogs??? Sell them or do another enclosure for the babies??

kyle1745 Jan 31, 2004 01:28 PM

Sell or trade them most likely, we will see.
