back half of tail is black?

boastud Jan 29, 2004 05:16 PM

I walked in to check on some of the little ones and saw this. His back half of his tail was very dark. Do you know why this is? I went back 10 minutes later and it was normal.

I've noticed this several times too. When one of my beardies is head bobbing and has a dark beard, he almost always has the last half of his tail dark too. And sometimes even the dark patches on his back get darker. I think it's normal.

okay I'm not beardie expert but this is what I have learned, when beardies display a black throat, or black anywhere else it is a sign of stress or if there is another male present this is like showing who's the boss. So I do not believe it's a normal thing unless they are aggitated. I am 80% sure about this so don't go on my word alone.
