* Do Not Feed The Trolls!

phwyvern Jan 29, 2004 05:23 PM

Folks -

PLEASE: Do Not Feed the resident trolls.

It is all too apparent that their names and their behaviour give them away.

Attention is what they want - don't give them that satisfaction.

Do not engage them.

Report the posts made by them and move on.

The report abuse link can be found on every post next to the name of the poster of that message.

Thank You.

There is a very good discription of what a TROLL is if you scroll up to and click on the RULES AND SERVICES heading on the Main Page.

Someone who comes into this forum with the express purpose of being disruptive and abusive. We have a couple that like to come around and try to pick fights with some of the members of the forum. They never actually contribute anything worthwhile, only try to start trouble.

Sometimes it is difficult to resist jumping into the fray and trying to run them off, but unfortunately, that only serves to fuel the fire. They are best completely ignored.

When you see it, you'll recognize it. Just hit the old "Abuse" button and report it to the moderators so they can delete it. These guys get banned from the forum on a regular basis, but they just change their screen names and come back under another name. They are easy to recognize, though...so just don't reply to any of their posts and report the post as abuse and it will be taken care of.
