Both of my Saharan Uro's were on Baytril for about 2 weeks to treat pneumonia. They weren't eating during that time so I had to give them fluids orally. They are now done with the Baytril but their poo's haven't returned to normal. Sorry to be gross, but their poo looks like yellow snot with a small speck of white (urates). It's very thick and yellow. Any ideas? Is this just a result of the Baytril and it's getting out of their system? Or do I have other problems like parasites? Sounds like I better get a fecal test done.

I've started them on probiotics and I am giving them some pea baby food with calcium and vitamins added to it every other day. I don't think they are eating normally yet. It's like the Baytril wiped out their appetite too.

Thanks for any help with this. Hopefully someone else has already experienced this.

Sounds just like you said...mucus. The intestines produce it as a lubricant. If they have nat been eating, it may just be that. Just a guess. I hope they are back to normal soon.
