is copper pipe bad for snakes?

i built something i could use for a shelf in my snake cages, i made it with copper piping and im going to put a piece of slate floor tile on top with aspen ontop of that, im gonna make it sturdy and everything if copper wont effect the snakes? im not sure if it would or not any info is appreciated cuz i would like to get them in there new homes tomorrow thanks

use pvc its less likely to cause a problem.

I have never used copper pipe in direct contact with my snakes. All I know is that the pipes in my house and many other people's houses is all copper, so they're getting it from the drinking water. I don't think it could cause a problem, as long as they couldn't crawl inside and get stuck or hide from you.

i was going to block the ends off, but im still worried that maybe the smell? or if they were to touch it some kind of chemical will come off, hmm ill probaly just use pvc piping to be safe

metal is a good conductor, so if you have it righ under a heating element it could get really really warm, or it could also get really cold
