Has it been proven that super pastel x normal gives 100%pastels?...

kirby Jun 07, 2003 10:19 AM

I am not as up on ball python breeding as I could be and don't know the answer to this question. Also are the pastels produced from super x normal better looking than pastel x normal. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Captive Bred Reptiles

Super Pastel X Normal has been proven to give you 100% pastels.

Also you asked if breeding a Super Pastel X Normal gives you better looking babies than Pastel X Normal and the answer is Most Likley.Because you are always going to get better looking offspring from better looking parents.

But it is all random...you will get killer pastels mixed in with not so great pastels.

Fun aint it

So you are saying a supper will ALWAYS produce better looking pastels then a regular pastel? Have you proven this? Could you show me where this is normal/consistent? I just never heard of this. Perhaps I have learned something new. Then you say
"But it is all random...you will get killer pastels mixed in with not so great pastels." Could you explain? I just do not understand your statement(s).

My snakes sing because they are happy!! Just like me!

okay this is what I ment........in most cases the better looking the parent the better looking the offspring, am i right so far.......next......No, supers wont ALWAYS produce better looking pastels than normals, it all random as far as what i have compiled on this forum. Just like in Pieds, you can breed two KILLER high white pieds and still get low % of white offspring...correct?

If YOU can set me straight on this I would really appreciate it since Ill be recieving my male pastel in July and would really love to know about them top to battom

Does your second statement contradict your first statement?
I can not help you on pastels because I do not own any. But your first post is just as confusing as this one. But perhaps it is just me. Any way enjoy your pastel. What line?

My snakes are happy singers - Some times I like to sing too!

You will get all pastels, but they are just normal pastels since they are heterozygous. How good the hetero pastel looks depends on how good the line is, not if the parent is super.
