Jeremy Stone Jan 30, 2004 01:05 AM

For ANYONE who helps tip off the authorities to the people who did this, I will give a Pastel Jungle Male to. Also, for anyone who helps get these back in the hands to Jeff, I'll pay for your Stay at the Daytona Expo. PLEASE SOMEONE come forward and help with this!!!!!!!!!! We should all unite here, and right this wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated. Jeremy

I am referring to anyone who can help Jeff Houston with his snakes, I'll contribute with this small offering. I hope others can join in and help anyway they can by just keeping your eyes and ears out For anyone selling a Spider or Mojave male that are around 600 grams. If you see one on the classifieds MAKE SURE you do a DEATAIL seach on where they got it. Get pictures. Also check with those breeders to see if they sold that animal to the seller. THIS BURNS ME UP!!!!! CREEPS!!!! Good luck Jeff

Good on you JS! And there can't be TOO many sub adult Mojaves floating around. I mean they are relatively brand new. I hope the scum are caught man. I really feel bad for you, as I know the time, expense, and sweat that it takes build a collection like that. That is just not fair, and I hope it gets righted sooner than later.

Keep your chin up....

I want to thank all who have emailed me and given their support here. Jeremy's offer is too kind. This is tough. Not only did they steal the snakes that I have cared for, some since 2000. They also took the first ball pythons I had ever produced. The worst is the needless trashing of my house. Broken window, furnature, everything in my house was dumped over. Every room was trashed. They dumped ALL of the snakes in my snake room, so now the ones that they left are genetic questions, I don't know which snakes are het and which are normal. So I came home to a trashed house and got to put it all back together while some scum was at home with my snakes!
I am not a big breeder, I have spent lots of money on these snakes. I have not made any back. I do not tell many people about my collection. I don't even post pictures of them for fear of stuff like this. I KNOW people have talked about me to others. There are too few people who know about me. There is someone out there who mentioned me, maybe a longtime ago. I need to hear from ANYONE who has EVER mentioned me. I don't know any scum that would do this, but they found out about my snakes from someone. I just need help finding out who and when.
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Jeff Houston

Jeff

I have never met you and haven't heard of you, but I do know EXACTLY how you feel. About a year and half ago my house was broke into and trashed! In fact it happened on TWO separate occasions within a summer!! The FIRST time most of my gun collection was stolen.. And the next time my house was just destroyed. I did have my guns insured so my insurance company paid for most of that loss. Coming home and seeing everything destroyed and a mess. Luckily these guys didn't know about the value of snakes. Anyways the second time my neighbor seen some kids break in my house and called the police. They were caught! I was at work at the time and the police called me and I came right home to see the kids that broke in. Get this though, and this our legal system.. There were three kids all under 18. One of them ( the one with the longest rap sheet), Was sent Juvenile hall until he is 18. The second kid was ordered to pay my $585.00, and the third kid NOTHING! Now these kids did about $7500.00 damage. I wasn't going to turn it in to my insurance but they were notified and the claim was put on hold. The other day I get a check in the mail from the courts for $75.00 I figured it was a payment on the $585.00 But with the check there is a letter signed by the judge stating this is all I would be receiving and they WOULDN'T tell me why. Needless to say I did turn the damages in to my home owners and my rates naturally will go up. I guess the point I am trying to get across here is that I HOPE TO GOD that the readers of this forum and the people that you know will be able to catch this BASTARD, because I have no faith in the police or our legal system. Please keep us informed on this..

By the way I myself have a TON of very high dollar animals myself that I am working with and if I have a successful year give me a call and I will do anything I can to help you get back on your feet..

Jeff,

I don't know you nor have I heard of you but I know one thing. We all started in this business with hopes and dreams of producing some awesome and beautiful animals. To take the huge leap to sink a ton of money into these animals takes some guts and to have some heartless fool strip that from you is appauling. I have read some of the posts and know that you lost quite a few high end animals. I am not sure about everything you lost but have an offer for you, until you get your animals back.

Please give me a call at your convienence,

Jack

hello there,
i know it's hard to lose treasured items in such a manner...a year ago some one broke into my parents backyard, breaking down not only a wooden gate but also a big 200 pound steel gate...they took my would be 9 year old purebreed red doberman pinscher. to this date i have yet to discover who took her. i know it tuff at a time like this...having something you've taken care of for so many years and grown attached to. like everyone else i wish you the best of luck in your search. hopefully you'll have better luck than i did trying to find my dog i cared for in the eight years i had her. whom ever did this to you will get there's but hopefully you'll get your snakes back. keep us posted with your search and we'll all do what we can to help...
the best of luck to you,
red

whoever did this must know the market for them .........knowing people will be asking questions .......... there cant be too many people going back to when those snakes were babies for anyone next season who starts producing them to prove where they got their breeders from............so when the 04's start coming out then thats when EVERYONE has to start asking questions.....where did you get your adults from and then follow up and find out if they did.........i think the guy who took bob clarks albinos years ago went to jail.......lets hope for the same ..........i wish i too could add to the reward but i dont have much to offer..........all my best and everyone keep this in your mind next season.......even if you yourself are not looking for those morphs but see babies for sale ask questions.......they will turn up somewhere.........PEACE

Native Jan 30, 2004 02:01 PM

Mostly hets, for example, I plan on producing pieds from my het breeding. I surely don't want to be a suspect in the theft just because I will be producing pieds and no one knows I have hets.

sjs Jan 30, 2004 04:28 PM

yes pieds albinos and pastels maybe .........but spiders and mojaves im sure can be traced back to the egg if who your dealing with is legit..........they havent been around long enough........this MUTT will rear his ugly head next season and try and sell his mojave and spider babies...and in the meantime anyone who suddenly sees someone who has some new unexplained beauties in his collection think to yourself is he worth protecting ........turn this MUTT in..........get that reward and feel good about yourself....i had said before i didnt have much to offer to the reward and i dont compared to whats offered as of yet.......but ive got five normal females ill throw in.............lets all keep adding what we can to this reward and make it happen...(easy to say when you only add five normals but its all i can do).....ALL MY BEST>>>>>>>>>>>PEACE

Jeremy Stone Jan 30, 2004 07:18 PM

Jared, that is way too cool. I hope that others may also get involved in any way. I'm sure with more on the table someone is willing to take the reward and do the right thing then get some snakes really cheap and not say anything. The ONLY way they can get away with this is.

1. Raise them up and breed them and BROKER the babies. This is where I have a problem with SOME brokers that won't verify their sources. I have a guy who bought a pair of Motleys from me that promised to pay me 10G. He only gave me 6G and promised to pay me 4G later. Well two and 1/2 years later I still have nothing. I sent him the snakes on his WORD that he would pay me later. He has since sold the Motleys for a big profit, and has produced Spiders, etc.... He just brokers them through 2 people on kingsnake so his name can be hidden. He still has yet to call me and make this wrong a right. He can justify it all he wants, but the Truth I would have NEVER sent him that Special male Motley would it not have been his word he would pay me the money later. What is a bigger shame is that people know about this but still deal with the guy because he gives them "GREAT" deals. I have had some bigger breeders stand up for me on this one though. THANKS V.P.I. and RDR who asked me about them then knowing the situation declined a trade. I've been too busy to go the legal route, but I just found out how to do leins on propery, and this will be my best chance I guess.

2. He will try to sell the animals, and the buyer may know they have a chance of being "HOT" but the Price is TOO good to pass up and just not say anything. This happened to Bob Clark as we know many people ended up with Albinos that were Bobs. They can justify the snake purchase because they didn't steal them, but what they don't realize is they enable the behavior. However, IF the reward becomes Large enough one of those potential buyers might decide to take the reward instead of the KILLER deal, and BANG Jeff gets his stuff back, and we crack down on this crap.

Too bad we live in a society that is like this. Nobody is perfect, but this is FLAT OUT WRONG. Like Alex said, this is a close nit society, and with the right people listening to what is really going on, all it will take is ONE move for this idiot and he goes to Jail, and Jeff gets his snakes. This REWARD is SERIOUS!!!! I PROMISE my offer, and I hope others do the same. Turning in this person is far more valiant then us offering this reward, so if you can't help with offering any type of reward, PLEASE HELP with keeping your eyes and ears open. Jared, I admire you. You didn't even do business with Jeff yet you are willing to offer something. THIS I admire. I feel I should at least do something because I know his HARD earned money bought those animals from me. I feel AWFUL. His male Spider had Sperm plugs, and his mojave was breeder size too. I would get e-mails every month or so from Jeff with his Spider and his Mojave on a scale. Each time the scale would show how much bigger they got. His male Spider was in the 600 gram range. I could just feel the excitment he had. For him to be deflated like this is just AWFUl. Not to mention he is also going through a Personal blow he and his wife (Especially his wife) have to overcome. They will hopefully get over this hurdle, but the Snake loss is a BIG hoop. Let's ALL HELP!!!!! Jeremy Stone
