How many silkworms(average)would a 7 month old Panther eat/day?

I know it varies, but give a range to help a newbie to have a better idea if we are in the zone. Thanks-Maggie

Maggie,

Sure it is going to vary.... you have to take in account what size the cham is and how big the silkworms are.

Providing that the male cham is 5" (or larger) snout to vent and a good eater, and the silkworms are 1-1/2" long.... they can consume 10. We have females (same age) who will eat only 4-6.

Hope this helps,

Thank you the info helps me to know if we are at least in the range. Being a newbie, it helps to have the past experience of others be somewhat of a guide even if there would be a natural variance. I have read, however, others on this forum with adult Vields(not Panthers)eating an amount that seems to be quite a bit less(something like 2-4 Crickets or 2-4 Silkies). Can I conclude that as they are growing(during month 6-12 to 18 they might consume more and that reaching adulthood would cause a lowering of calories needed? Thanks-Maggie
