breeding

One more thread. I have two leos 1.1 that are over a year old and breeding size. I have had them housed together for probobly close to 4 weeks, and no eggs. I have seen them mate, they mated the night that i put them together. Does this mean that i have a female or a male that cannot reproduce?? or could she be egg bound. She is very active, eating well. I have noticed one thing though and that is she lays her belly on the heat mat alot more. I checked her bell and i dont see and eggs but she has gotten bigger. ??

from my experience in breeding which isnt really a lot, only two seasons including this year. it may take up to 3 weeks for the female to lay her eggs. and if its a first time breeder, she may produce duds at first[eggs that arent fertilized]. she may lay up to 4 eggs, this is what is expected of a first time breeder. it takes sum time for the eggs to develop before you can see them under her belly. layin her belly more often on the uth signifies that ur female is gravid. you can be sure because u will notice a change in the female's belly, as though sumthin is protrudin out towards the side. i would suggest separatin the male and female, as the female retains sperm, and the male and female could become stressed, as the male will want to mate more, and the female doesnt.
