Inter-racial love???

Amk2109 Jan 30, 2004 04:01 PM

I have to tell this story because it is to cute. One of my dragons, named Junior was in this trance the other day just staring out the window. When I went over to see him I noticed that there was a little bunny sitting outside. Several days later the same thing was still happening. Now I have bought some corn for the rabbit and I put a little pile underneath the window so that when she comes to see him she can eat a little and get out of the bad weather on our porch. Just thought their little romance was too cute!!!!

Had a question for anybody that lives the midwest. We lost our power last night for over 3 hours with temps in the -15 to -20 degrees. We finally had to take all the lizards and put them in a fleece blanket and in front of our gas fireplace for warmth. Is there any ideas out there for what an alternative might be if this happens again? Everything is electric so we have a real problem when we lose power in the winter. Plus we live in a very small town and this happens frequently. Thanks for any advice!!!

I know one way of keeping a beardie sufficiently warm is to place it on your belly, under your clothes. Of course, if you have a lot of lizards, that might become a problem...

Very cute story....buy disposable heat packs used for shipping reptiles......then when the power goes out, you can open how ever many you need and they take about 1/2 hours to heat up.....you can get 24 hour to 60 hours ones I believe....
lllreptile.com sells them, so does exoticlizards.com....

You can also get them at Walmart in the sporting goods section. Handwarmers for hunters. Basically the same thing.

Not sure of the stats, I know UPS's are designed just for short bursts of power to safely close down pc's etc, but if you only have one heat source like a heat lamp or something running through it you may be able to get a reasonable 'up-time'

You should be able to see run time charts at the site below, and calculate up times based on current your setup draws.

Hope this helps,
