How did i wire mine?

I don't know how I wired my two lights. I have looked online for diagrams but everything is DC. This is what I did: My 2 cord power wire came in the hood....one black one white. I then just spliced the whites of both lights in with a wire nut, and did the same for the blacks. I guess if my wiring had a diagram, it would look like a Y. They aren't linked like a train. Anyway, whatever it is, it seems to work. What is it called?
