when u introduce a male and female that are ready to breed do u put the female in with the male or the male in with the female? also i have a male that i got at the white plains show on 1-11-04 since ive had him he's probably eaten a total of 10-15 small mealworms and will not eat crix, i know he's probably in hibernation cuz he always stays hidden...now that i have increased temps and attempted to increase photoperiod will it help bring him out of hibernation if i introduce him to a ripe female?...or should i let him be?

thanks a lot,
chris

By the time you are done quarentining the new leo and you're sure there are no problems, it will be near the end of winter and they should breed on the first try.
I bred a couple of mine last weekend, while others I've introduced are showing little interest in each other.
they know its winter, and will breed when the female doesn't have a headache

but if you have a fidgety female, she might be more willing to breed if you introduce the male to her rather than put her in a strange tank.
I've had them breed in the males tank, the females tank, and on the couch :^)
