need feeder help

Carlton Jun 07, 2003 12:32 PM

Hi all,

I need to contact any keepers in AK who have live pinkie feeders available. I have a cbb juvenile Solomon Island ground boa (about 8" TL juvie colubrid size) who has suddenly decided not to take F/T pinks. He has been a rodent feeder from birth and the breeder (Jerry Conway) and I are stumped. I've tried various tricks, scenting, timing, sizes, etc. with no luck. He was selected by the breeder because he was a good pink feeder. Has not eaten since 4/25. He's in a plastic shoebox, undertank heater temps from 79 to 84 F, humidity about 70%. Low traffic area, no handling stress. I have NO source for live feeders of any kind in my area. Rather than watch him starve I'll consider sending him to a keeper who can feed live, and will pay all expenses. This is not a miserable wc import, rather a beautiful cbb white Santa Isabel phase boa. Please email or call me directly at 907-697-2112. Thanks for your help.

Have you considered breeding mice? That is, if you can't find anyone to help you out...
