What kinds of herps do you people keep. I have a aussie waterdragon and 1 ackie soon to be a pair. Have you ever been to Hoffers tropiclife pet store, if not you gotta check it out. In my opinion it's better than the reptile house at the zoo. Damn it's cold out. Later, Clint.

Hey Clint...

I have:

1.3 Varanus acanthurus brachyurus-Yellow Ackies
0.1 u. geyri-Saharan Uromastyx
1.2 u. ornatus-Ornate Uromastyx
2.1 u. benti pseudophilbyi-Rainbow Benti Uromastyx
1.1 u. ocellata-Dwarf Sudanese Uromastyx
1.0 pseudemys floridana peninsularis-Yellow Belly Cooter
0.0.2 litoria caerulea-White's Tree Frogs
0.0.1 hyla cyrysocelis-Copes Grey Tree Frog
0.0.1 rhacodactylus auriculatis-Gargoyle Gecko

I have been to Hoffers many times. The store itself is awesome looking, but they are high priced and don't always know their stuff. I have a habit of testing pet shop employees by asking questions that I know the answers to and see what they say. I get about a 50-50 result. LOL Finally, yes, it is really cold here, but at least we have that snow to look forward to! Happy herping.

I live in Madison. I've been considering keeping ackies for over a year now, hopefully I'll get around to it in the future. For now I mostly keep amphibians and a few odd reptiles. I've been to Hoffer's a few times in the past and agree with what Pam wrote. Their new store blows me away but their animals are often over priced and last time I visited their herps were being over crowded in inadequate enclosures. I work at Animart pet store here on the east side of Madison. We have a large reptile department but its aimed mostly at the general public so we don't carry monitors, iguanas, large tortoises or other large reptiles that average joe might have a difficult time caring for. Talk to you later,
