but.......with $50K could we just not buy him all new snakes????

....reality is ,someone he knows did this to him......go to all friends and friends of friends and find the culprit.....then kill him/them.....

really.......it has to be an inside ,local job........

....not being brash....well....yes I am.......but only certain robbers will steal snakes......and he has to have access to them....

I understand your point. The problem is we need to arrest these people, not just get new snakes for me. This is much bigger than my snakes.
So many people who know me have sent emails saying, "when did you get all those snakes, I did not know you had those" No one did, I have never posted pics of my stuff. I only know a couple other local breeders (names you would recognize) who have been to my house, I don't sell snakes, I don't have a web site, etc. I did not put my stuff out there for people to see because I feared a theft.
I read this forum everyday, but don't post out of fear. I guess that did not help me. That is why I KNOW this person can be caught. There are people who must have talked about me. It is not like Dan and Colette, everyone knows they have a huge collection. People have been talking, word has been spread, we need those people to come forward.
Again, we are not asking for donations. We are asking people to pledge to donate to the REWARD fund only. This money will not be collected from anyone unless these people are caught. This is not a fund raiser for me. It is to find scum in this indusrty and get rid of them. This money will get someone to talk and get this case into the spotlight. (news, paper, cable, etc)

You are absolutely right! Catching and punishing these theives should be second, only to the safe recovery of the animals stolen. If they are allowed to get away with it, it will only make them bolder and add make it more appealing to those who might be interested in theft.

On a side note, I take pictures of all my animals. This is important if they are stolen, but more importantly, I can identify who is who. That way I don't mix up my hets

$50K may buy him replacement animals but this reward is to catch and convict whoever was involved in this crime.

I know Steven......but like here in Pa.(anywhwere else)...we would know who ripped us off...the person who is dumbest and knows us,and comes to our home a few times........

I just learned of this theft and it makes me sick to think some scum can just come and take your animals and think they are going to get away with it. Personally if I caught someone stealing anything from me whatever the value may be I would be the one going to prison, I hate a theif!!!

To Jeff I really hope you get your animals back, I know all the hard work you had to do to purchase and raise these beautiful animals and I wish to see the person or persons who done this crime get exposed and go to jail. You have my support!

Some years ogo my dog (my bestest bud) was killed by some burgalers. He was killed with a bow and arrow. In my research, I went to all the archery shops in the town I lived in. Every one of them offered to add money to my reward. Although there was never a conviction, and I never took any money from them, the gesture was truly appreciated. They did this because these scumbags were giving a very bad name to thier hobby. These people are doing the same thing to us.
I will always be grateful for the effort those shop owners put out for me and my cause. I will do the same for this cause. I will be happy to pledge money, and hope for the safe return of these snakes.

I was absolutly shocked to hear that someone would be stupid enough to crash into someones house & steal someones dream like these guys did. I have a feeling the people/persons responsible for this are lurking out there reading all of this & to you I say we are united - $39,000 worth of united as of a few minutes ago. We know your reptile people. However big our industry has gotten over the last several years, it's not that big. There is no place you can go, no place you can sell these animals, no place to hide. The world gets real small real quick doesn't it ? You will be caught. It's only you behind those eyelids at night, sleep well kid. Someone knows something. Someone will tell. They always do. It's kinda like when a snake gets loose in your herp room - in my experience - they always turn up. I know of a few other thefts of retiles (Bob Clark for example) and the perpetrators have always been caught. Your in deep doo-doo dude. But purhaps more importantly, I'd hate to be you when it came time to meet your maker. dress for warm weather !
