Have a fecal ran first no sense in treating an animal that doesn't need it.
Treatment depends on what parasite they have, each med works for different parasites.
Okay, I just visited ProExotics and they got something that they claim to be really great and that they use on all new reptiles, etc. If you're looking for a cheap or non chemical way of curing mites, I have to say I can't help you there as I never had a reptile have mites, so shrug. Sorry.

Check your nearest petshop and see if they carry anything for mites. Make sure its for reptiles.
Wait a minute it said parasite, I'm over here thinking about mites lol. If it is severe for what I heard, you can actually see some worms in the stool, but like what the guy said before me, get some samples and bring it to a vet that knows reptiles as they aren't all worm related.
However, most of the time you don't really have to worry about parasites, unless your reptile have problems such as loss of appetite, activeness (check the internet for other issues that relate with internal parasites). If you keep the surroundings exceptionally clean and suitable (temps, humidity), than you shouldn't worry if they have it unless there is a bad affect. However, if you have extra cash that you don't care about, than sure!

ahhh im beginning to hate vets the 2 lizards that i brought in their died after 1000 bucks lol most people wonder y i do that wen i could by multiple new ones but in my view vets are evil but i still hope, probally sumpin screwed wit my lizards misdiugnoses or sumpin
You are asking on a pet forum, on how to administer what is basically a poison to an animal that has not been diagnosed to even have anything, and vets are evil? They misdiagnosed, but your guess is better?
While I admit it is hard to find a real good vet with varanids, you/we are the ones that bought an exotic, it is our responsibility to find the care they need. More than likely, as almost always, husbandry is the cause of death. Don't pass the buck, even if the vet was the eventual cause of death, you are the one that brought it to that vet and approved what was done.

www.arav.org, while it's no guarantee the vet is good, it's a start.
I've heard good things about Scott Stahl, but I've never met him, or used his services (I live in SoCal).
Good Luck,
