yellermelon Jan 31, 2004 11:42 AM

hey someone suggested the thought i may have an impacted gecko on my hands. wich really really would suck because im super carefull about that. shes been kept on bed a beast, in wich ive kept all my adult leos for the past 2 years and all my other herps that apply for past 3-4 years. ive never had anyproblems till now. she will not poo! i was curiouse i know with beardies if you soak them in warm water it somtimes helps them pass whatever is stuck. because honestly i do not have the cash to have surgery done right now..anyone know any tricks i can do to help my lil star?

I don't know what that substrate is, but if it is a fine material like sand, impaction is always possible.

I don't think impaction ever causes surgery, at least not that I have heard of in leopard geckos. I believe some people say a few drops of mineral oil help, but I would wait for a second response before trying it, I just remember it was some kind of oil for cooking
