Just wanted to share a picture of an eastern blackneck garter snake that was found by a friend on his ranch in a small pool of water. Snake posed for some photos and was set free to eat the small leopard frog tadpoles sharing the same pool.

Texas--where else?
I'm fairly certain I found a DOR about a year ago in a location which would represent a slight range extension. I haven't looked for more this year, since we've had a small drought the past several months, but last week's rain should've brought some of them out and about.

whenever you wanna go look for some, let me know! I figured I'd have to road cruise at night, but Joe found that one in the middle of the heat, 95F or more! It was swimming in the water, though. I'll have to look around Cibolo Creek as that looks like similar habitat...
