So I saw 2 Mali's housed together at the LFS....

No idea what sex they were, but they seemed to be living comfortable as a duo. I've read where you shouldn't really house 2 Mali's together as they tend to fight. True or no? Are Mali's solitary animals or could I get both and have them continue to share pacefully?

I'm looking at a 40 or 50G enclosure. The pet store's was much smaller (around 20G it seemed).

Thanks!

I keep my 2 malis together and they dont ever fight they acautally seem to like each other they are male and female . I read that the bigger the size difference when they are introduced the better they get along im not sure if this is true but as long as you have a few hide spots for each one anda 2 basking spots they should be good

A 40 or 50 gallon enclosure can work well for one CB individual as a minimum, but you will need more space for a pair. Wild caught animals will often need more, too. Malis get much larger than Geyris, and my pair is in an 80 gallon tank - that's probably smaller than they *should* have. Give them as much space as you can, and don't get more animals than you actually have room for. There are no guarantees that any two will get along, so you need an alternate housing setup in case you have to separate them. Apparently this can happen at any time - even with uros who have lived together peacefully for a long time.
