Not sure what you mean by an "anual test", but there is no accurate way to visually sex Ball Pythons. They need to be probed or popped by someone who really knows what they're doing (reptile vet, breeder, etc):
Hope this helps.

concerning anual test...i meant probbing test, when u stick a probe in pythons cloaka.
but i think my Oz (his name) is male after i read "Posterior to the cloaca, a pair of hemipenes are present in male snakes."
i read once about those hempines but i had to be sure.now i'm pretty sure he is male!
thx

did you actually pop or probe your bp? the hemipenes are not visible w/o doing this. perhaps you are seeing the anal spurs?

you saw the anal spurs - not the hemipenes. in order to see the hemepenes you must probe or pop. presence or absence of the hemepenes determines sex.

I know what you mean. I went 4 months before I knew the sex of my bp. i was hoping for a male (but would have been fine with either) and remember wishing there was some way to visually sex him. i ended up taking him to our local reptile show and had the onsite vet probe him for a small fee (since the reptile vet i go to doesn't probe snakes).
do you have a reptile vet or reptile show you can go to and have them probe or pop?

there are no shows around here and i know only one vet.i visited him once, because Oz had parasites and he was in need of medical treatment!i also aked him if he could tell me the sex, but he didn't. i don't know why!maybe he don't know how to do that!
there are not many reptile vets in Slovenia, that's why i'm going to study vet and become one...i hope so!i like animals more than anything in the world!!!

Hmmm. I have a few suggestions:
- contact the vet you went to and see if he/she knows anyone who can probe or pop your snake.
- find a reptile pet store and see if they know how to do it and if they will do it for you.
- find a breeder near you and see if they will help you.
That's all I can think of. Best of luck! I know it can be a bit frustrating not knowing. I got tired of calling my bp 'it' for months.

good suggestions, but:
i don't know any breeder exists is Slovenia(that is sad), i asked my vet to check his sex but he didn't (i don't remember what he said), only thing i could do is to go to a ZOO, but it's a bit too cold out there to get my snake out of his tank!
i'll go there is summer!
now i have to start rebuilding his tank!

well, my BPs hiding place is almost complete, i just have to wait till silicon is dry!
then i'll put it it the tank and see if BP will like it!

Good luck. Forgot to mention that it seems (at least for my BP) that they prefer round shaped hides - that way they can ball up in them. Remember snug and tight & at least one in the cooler end (80-85) and at least one in the warmer end (90-92, 95 tops). As he grows you'll have to keep finding new hides.

i've already finished with his hiding place...it is big enough, although it is not round shaped.i've build it myself and it's kind of hard to construct round box.the second one is on the bottom floor...i added another triangle vase(like the one it was already in there just smaller) and put it in front of the bigger one.so now is just a little hole to get into that vase!
so he has 2 new hideouts!

The zoo is a good idea. Just make sure you call first. Good luck!
