Sweet good shed

rttlrvenom Jan 31, 2004 03:13 PM

ok tell my if this sound wierd but my amels eye went kinda blue not like my normals do but she got dull color and her eyes went a little cloudy but not that much. so i figured she would shed by next week. well i got home from shooting shotguns with my friend to find a perfect shed in the cage. I was so happy because last time she shed it was a bad shed and i had to soak her but got it off. well i guess putting plactic wrap over half of her cage and misting her cage once or twice a day is paying off, my house is extremely dry for some reason mabe because it is a new house

Now for the wierd part she shed not last weekend but the weekend before is this normal it seems like she shed to soon or something but mabe she is growing fast because she is eating 2 large pinkies every 4-5 days normaly 2 days after there is not bulge in her stomach.

well just thought id share this

That can happen.
I have had similar things happen with my snakes. As long as it is a good shed, I would just be happy it is growing.
I had one of my okeetees go blue and the next day he ate and then shed about ten minutes after eating.
They shed when they are ready, not when we think they should...lol

heh, oh sweetie, we're so proud of you! A little hut (deli cup etc) with some moist paper towels or moss works really well. i think that covering the cage tends to keep the yuckies in.
