Lookin for a breeding project, possibly a gecko...(NO LEOS!)

LizardLuva Jan 31, 2004 08:52 PM

I want to start a small breeding project with a smaller, available lizard pair. i want to do this as a more of a expierence to see when im older if i want to take up bigger breeding. I am looking for some thing thats available, but not the most super common at expos (such as leos and beardies).
What i am looking for:
Something around the size of a house gecko, anole or golden gecko.
Price for the pair under 40$ at an expo, etc.
kept in a 10-20 gallon tank. (Maybe 30...)
Maybe something i can handle
Somethink that will only produce a few, good quality kids. not 30 of em!
Thats about it, if possible can you post as many selections with good and the bad of the species.
Thanks again!

I think banded geckos (Coleonyx) of the U.S. (brevis and variegatus) are underrepresented. They fit pretty much all your requirements. I'd be breeding them myself if someone could find me a few females (I have all males!).

If you're looking for C. variegatus I can give you the name of a breeder. He doesn't have a website as far as I know, but email me and I can give you his email address.
