Considering A Horned Lizard

Hi I am Considering a horned lizard and was wandering what I need to know before i purchse one like where to get one , what is the best specis,where to get ants, what heating Lighting and Cage requirements are Thanks for any help

They are hard to come by this time of year. If you can find them they probably won't be in the best of condition.
There are a couple of place you get your ants from.

Read alot of this forum and the old archive HL forum too. HL's are not easy and require dedication and care.

I catch my ants from where else but the ground but if you want to spend money buying little insects I'm sure there's a place, also you need a 10 gallon cage for 1 or 2 babys but probaly a 15-20 for 2 big ones. As for lighting horned toads love to bask in some good ole uvb rays so I suggest you get one of those dayglo heat bulbs, and finally I would give them some soft calcium sand in wich they can burrow althogh my friend used that stuff and he said it turned his horny the color of the sand.
