Can he be moved to sand yet??

jlizard Jan 31, 2004 09:52 PM

i have had my beardie for 4 moths now hes about 6-7 months old. I have had him in his 40 breeder he doin fine. lighting heating is fine. feeding is fine. but i was wondering if it is ok to move him to sand now, i have him on repti-carpet but it looks sooo uncomfortable. its like a hard rock. I know it sounds silly but i want in to be comfortable laying on the floor of his tank. I would feed him in the spare 10 gallon i have to reduce any chances of sand compaction. My question is, is he old enough for sand?

Yes, it is OK to have them on sand at that age.

hello I have a beardy about 3 mounths old and I got a suggestion in this forum to try shelf liner the non adheasive kind at walmart It is thick (kind of cushie) and softer and it is also easyer to claen then sand and no chance of swolloing it you might try that and see how it works for you
