"A metre-long carnivorous monitor lizard has escaped and is on the loose in Morecambe (UK). Experts have warned that the lizard could be aggressive and give small children a nasty bite. Posters have been displayed in a pub in Bare advising the public not to approach the lizard which escaped more than a week ago. As the weather begins to get warmer the lizard's chances of long-term survival in the outdoors are good. `They can be aggressive...our advice to people is don't touch it," said a spokesman for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
