I haven't seen any signs of defecating from my tegu in some time now. Is it possible for tegu's to become constipated? If so, does anyone have any suggestions on how to help him pass through this..so to speak?

Is he hibernating? If so, then I think it's normal. I would think that lots of fruits would help, just like in humans. Lots of moisture, as well as giving baths should help as well.

Thanks Jon. I don't THINK he's in hibernation...he eats every day, has periods of activity every day, etc. But, he does have long periods of very little activity too (1-2 days). Is this part of hibernation? Again, thanks for your help!
Good news...especially for Albert. He finally passed a large, very foul smelling stool this afternoon. He no longer has that bloated-belly look, and he just appears in better spirits over all. Hopefully we're past the crisis, real or imagined. Guess this a good lesson for me to keep better track of his elimination, it can be a good indication of overall health.
Glad to hear that all is well! I'm not much of an expert on tegu pooping, my little guy goes pretty regularly on his own. Glad to hear it worked out.
