I've never tried to remove a UTH, but there is a product called "Undu" that should work. I've used it to remove labels from glass (that seems like what you're looking for) and stamps and stickers from paper. Sticky things like stamps can be re-used after they dry out. You can find Undu at most any craft store and sometimes at Wal-Mart. God luck!
I would try mineral spirits, Laquor thinner, nail polish remover,
carefully lift a corner of your matt and with a rag start
working the solvent into the glue. Those solvents will start to soften the glue allowing you to peel it off. Work slowly and let the solvent do the work. Your matt will still work but will not stick very well on a different tank, but you could try double sided carpet tape. Any of these items can be bought at a haredware store or found cheaper at a home building supply center. Hope this helps. Clint
Undu works great, just peel a little and with a rag wipe some on, and it will slowly peel. Then go to the hardware store and get foil tape to stick it back on. Turn the tank upside down, and make sure the UTH is flat and tape it on.
Also you can use sticker remover. It comes in a bottle with a squirt top, and a little plastic squeegee thing. You squirt a little on and scrape with the wedge.
